SWOSU Sponsoring Oklahoma Centennial History Discussion on November 12


An Oklahoma Centennial History Panel Discussion will be held this Monday, November 12, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

The 7 p.m. discussion will be in the historic Old Science Building Auditorium on the SWOSU campus. Admission is free, and the public is invited.

Panelists for the event include Dr. John Hays, president of SWOSU; Randy Beutler, assistant to the president at SWOSU; and Dr. Henrietta Mann, president of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribal College.

Topics for the event include100 Years of Oklahoma Politics”; “A Backward Look at Higher Education”; and “100 Years of Oklahoma from the Native American Perspective.”  Moderator for the panel will be SWOSU Reference Librarian Frederic Murray.

Oklahoma turns 100 years old on November 16. To celebrate Oklahoma’s 100 years of statehood and its rich heritage, the Al Harris Library and Social Sciences Department is sponsoring the panel discussion.
