SWOSU-Sayre to Host Enrollment Info Session in Elk City

Officials from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre will be at Elk City High School on Wednesday, May 7, to enroll high school students and any interested adults in college classes offered at Elk City and Sayre during the upcoming summer and fall semesters.

SWOSU-Sayre Counselor Sherron Manning said SWOSU-Sayre personnel will be at the high school by 1 p.m. helping students enroll and answering questions they may have about the process.

“We welcome eligible Elk City High School students and their parents to stop by, and we also encourage any adults interested in taking college classes to visit with us as well,” Manning said.

Textbook information will also be available for students and parents.

Elk City High School is providing space for two college courses this summer taught by SWOSU-Sayre faculty.  College Algebra and English Composition I will be held afternoons at the high school beginning June 3 and ending July 30.  High school seniors who have made certain ACT scores may take college courses tuition-free, beginning the summer before their senior year.

SWOSU-Sayre’s general education classes are transferable to other colleges and universities and will apply toward degrees at those schools.
