Football Watch and Birthday Party Planned August 28 at SWOSU

A watch party for the first Southwestern Oklahoma State University away football game and a birthday party for Duke the Bulldog is planned Thursday evening, August 28, at the Wellness Center on the Weatherford campus.

“Do you want to support your SWOSU Bulldogs at an away game, but can’t afford the gas?” said SWOSU student Britnee Goure. “Well here’s your chance to cheer on the Bulldogs from our very own Wellness Center.”

The football game will be streamed via webcast by SWOSU employees who will send the game back to SWOSU.  The Bulldogs will take on Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. Kickoff is 7 p.m.

Goure said there will be free food and drinks for everyone.  For all who decide to attend, there will be a Wii given away at halftime. If the person is wearing a Milam Madmen t-shirt, that individual will get two drawing entries. Everyone else will get one entry. And, the person must be present to win.

Also at halftime, SWOSU will be celebrating with Duke, the live Bulldog mascot.  In honor of Duke’s birthday, there will be cake, ice cream, and punch.

“It will be a great opportunity to support the team, and hang out with friends,” Goure said.

For individuals who have not picked up a Milam Madmen shirt, the shirts are available in Room 214 (Dean of Students office) in the Stafford Center.

The August 28 events are sponsored by the SWOSU Alumni Association and the Dean of Students office.
