SWOSU Hosting Basketball Festival December 19-20

Southwestern Oklahoma State University is hosting a basketball festival December 19-20 involving high school teams from Anadarko, Clinton, Casady and Weatherford as well as the SWOSU men’s and women’s basketball teams.

The festival will be held at Rankin Williams Fieldhouse on the SWOSU campus.

High school games on Friday will be held at 12 noon, 1:30, 5 and 8:30 p.m. The SWOSU’s women’s basketball team will play Abilene Christian at 3 p.m. and the SWOSU men’s basketball team will play Abilene Christian at 6:30 p.m.

Games on Saturday will only involve high school teams at 4, 5:30, 7 and 8:30 p.m.

Todd Boyd, director of the SWOSU Admissions and Recruitment Office, will have an area available for visits with parents and students about SWOSU, which has campus locations in Weatherford and Sayre.

Boyd said adults and students 9th grade and above will be able to register for four $375 scholarships—one per school—which will be given away during Saturday’s games. Winners of the scholarship drawing will be able to choose the scholarship recipient, a senior who is planning to attend SWOSU during the 2009 fall semester. The scholarships can be used at the Weatherford or Sayre campuses.

Also, there will be door prizes given away at the games.
