History Day at SWOSU Coming April 1


A History Day competition will be held at Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Wednesday, April 1, on the Weatherford campus.

The competition is for District II in the state of Oklahoma. Junior and senior high students from western Oklahoma will compete with this year's theme being "The Individual in History: Actions and Legacies."

Roger Bromert, coordinator of History Day activities at SWOSU, said approximately 100 students from Burns Flat/Dill City, Canton, Minco and Washita Heights will participate.

Exhibits, performances and documentaries will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 noon in the SWOSU Conference Center, located at the corner of Seventh and Davis Streets, on the SWOSU campus. The awards ceremony will be at 1:30 p.m. in the SWOSU Conference Center. 

Admission is free, and the public is invited to the activities.
