Southwestern Oklahoma State University through the Department of Accounting, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship in the School of Business and Technology has recently partnered with Precision Design, Inc., to establish a student internship program on the Weatherford campus.

The internship program will allow SWOSU students to work under the supervision of aeronautics professionals at Precision Design, Inc.

The internship program encourages undergraduate students to prepare for careers in the aeronautics and space fields as well as ancillary areas that support Oklahoma workforce and development.  Student interns will work on tasks identified by Precision Design, will receive hands-on experience and will be compensated for their work.  Student interns will have the opportunity to work on a real project in industry, learn new industrial processes and technology, and improve their analytical skills and knowledge in research and development.

Madeline Baugher, instructor in the Department of Accounting, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship, is the internship director for SWOSU, and Craig Easter is the internship director for Precision Design.

Internship programs, such as the one with Precision Design, provide students with valuable, practical work experience to supplement their formal, academic preparation. Additionally, good performance by interns will enhance their employability after graduation.

SWOSU plans to continue pursuing additional internship partnerships with other Oklahoma-based industry.  For additional information, regarding workforce development internship partnerships, contact Madeline Baugher at 580.774.3122.
