SWOSU Wins 12 Awards in State PR Competition


Southwestern Oklahoma State University recently won 12 awards at the recent Oklahoma College Public Relations Association state conference held this year at Quartz Mountain Resort in southwest Oklahoma.

The statewide competition was among all Oklahoma colleges and universities and featured over 470 entries in 33 categories of competition, recognizing outstanding work produced by OCPRA professionals in public relations, development, audio-visual communications, publications, design, periodicals, writing, photography, sports and alumni programs.

SWOSU won the second most awards of all Oklahoma colleges and universities, trailing only Oklahoma State University at Stillwater, which won 14 awards. The University of Central Oklahoma won 11 awards followed by Northeastern State University and the Noble Foundation, each winning nine awards. 

"This is the second year in a row that SWOSU has won 12 awards at this competition," SWOSU President John Hays said. "It is always nice to be recognized for outstanding work and I appreciate the many individuals who are involved in these projects."
