Greek Sing Planned for First Time on SWOSU Campus

An exciting new event, Greek Sing, is planned Wednesday, March 31, by the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Greek Council.

The first-ever event is planned for 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Centers on the Weatherford campus. Tickets are $5 with proceeds benefiting the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event.

Groups involved include Sigma Sigma Chi, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Sigma Tau Gamma, Phi Delta Theta, Zeta Phi, Kappa Delta Omega and Theta Alpha Omega.

"Basically, the groups are split into three teams and will take part in a musical competition," said Abbie Freeman, co-Greek Sing chair. "The groups will be retelling childhood favorites through song and dance."

Tickets are available from any Greek member and from the Dean of Students Office in Room 211 of the Stafford Center.

Additional information is available by contacting co-Greek Sing chair Kayla DeWitt at 580.339-0690 or

"We really want to get area communities involved," said DeWitt. "This is the first year and if we have a big turnout, we can continue doing this to raise money for Relay for Life."

The Relay for Life event is planned April 9 at the SWOSU Wellness Center.
