Two Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre Phi Beta Lambda members won first place at the business organization's State Leadership Conference held recently in Norman.

Cyndy Blevins of Sayre placed first in Business Communications and first in Management Concepts, and Petra Acosta of Sayre placed first in Human Resource Management.

Other students who placed in the top three included:  Bill Akins, Erick, second place in Client Service and third in Justice Administration; and Kelsey Wynn, Sayre, second in Business Law, second in Financial Analysis and Decision Making and third in Telephone Skills.

The top two finishers in each category qualify to compete in the National Leadership Conference this summer in Nashville, Tennessee.

"PBL gives the students an idea of what business and career-related areas are out there for them," said faculty sponsor Holly Hernandez. "The Phi Beta Lambda members would like to thank the faculty and staff at SWOSU-Sayre as well as members of the community for their continued support."
