Internationally Renowned Pianist to Perform at SWOSU

Roman Rudnytsky 

Piano soloist Roman Rudnytsky will perform Thursday, October 14, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

The SWOSU Music Department is hosting Rudnytsky, an American concert pianist who has performed around the world for many years. Born in New York into a prominent Ukrainian musical family and a graduate of the Juilliard School, he has played concerts in nearly 100 countries.

The concert at SWOSU will be at 7 p.m. in Room 101 of the Berrong Music Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.

Rudnytsky will also be teaching a Master Class on Wednesday, October 13, at 4 p.m. in Room 101 of the Berrong Music Hall.

Rudnytsky is the winner of a number of national and international piano competitions and has been soloist with orchestras around the world.  His 2010 concerts have included performances in India, Britain, Ukraine, Honduras, Los Angeles, New Zealand, Colombia, Canada, Nepal and Thailand.

In addition to his many concert performances, Rudnytsky is a member of the faculty of the Dana School of Music at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio.  He has received the Distinguished Professor Award from that institution in recognition of his numerous concert performances.
