Cheyenne Oglala Sioux Poet to Speak at SWOSU on Monday


Lance Henson, an internationally-known Cheyenne/Oglala Sioux poet, will be guest speaker at Southwestern Oklahoma State University this Monday, October 18, on the Weatherford campus.

Henson will speak at 1 p.m. in the SWOSU Conference Center, located at the corner of Seventh and Davis Streets. Admission is free.

Henson's visit to the SWOSU campus is sponsored by the SWOSU Native American/ H.O.P.E. (Honoring Our People's Existence) Club. He has 28 books of poetry to his credit, and his works have been translated into 25 languages.
