Twelve Schools Sending Reps to SWOSU Physics Day This Thursday


Southwestern Oklahoma State University will host Physics Day this Thursday, November 4, on the Weatherford campus.

Around 105 high school physics students from 12 area high schools will experience physics first hand at SWOSU through hands-on activities and demonstrations.   

Dr. Tony Stein, faculty advisor to the SWOSU Engineering Physics Club, said students will participate in exhibitions that cover a broad spectrum of physics in a fun and informative manner.  Dr. Charles Rogers, Dr. Terry Goforth, Dr. Wayne Trail and Stein will lead the activities assisted by the physics club.

Participating schools include: Burns Flat-Dill City, Cheyenne, Cordell, Corn Bible Academy, Lawton MacArthur, Mountain View-Gotebo, OSSM-Fairview, OSSM-Alva, Sayre, Seiling, Sentinel and Weatherford.

Physics Day is an annual event hosted by the Physics Division of the SWOSU Department of Chemistry and Physics and the SWOSU Engineering Physics Club. The event begins at 9 a.m. on the SWOSU campus.
