Holiday Choral Concert Planned by Three SWOSU Choirs


A concert of holiday favorites and other choral compositions will be presented by the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Music Department on Thursday, December 2, on the Weatherford campus.

The 7 p.m. concert will feature three of the music department's five choirs including the Chamber Choir, Women's Choir and Men's Choir.

Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend the concert in the Fine Arts Center lobby.

The Chamber Choir, conducted by Dr. Daniel Farris, will perform the Brahms' motet, O Heiland and Stenhammar's Tre körvisor. The Chamber Choir has been invited to sing for the January 2011 conference of the Oklahoma Music Educators Association.

The Women's Choir, conducted by Joyce Adams Curtis, is singing songs by Reger, Pfautsch, a Russian Jewish Traditional song, and the famous Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson.  The Men's Choir, conducted by Dr. Bonnie Sneed, will sing a variety of seasonal songs and will feature several soloists on O Tannenbaum.
