SWOSU Enrollment Numbers Increase

Southwestern Oklahoma State University's enrollment numbers for the 2011 spring semester is up about 1.0% for the Weatherford and Sayre campuses compared to the 2010 spring semester.

SWOSU President Randy Beutler said enrollment for the 2011 spring semester is 4,889. That compares to 4,844 in 2010.

SWOSU's enrollment for the 2010 fall semester also had an increase of 5.3%. Beutler, who is just about to finish his first year as president of SWOSU, said the positive enrollments are very encouraging.

"SWOSU continues to be a student-centered higher educational institution," Beutler said. "SWOSU is well known for its quality academic programs (15 nationally-accredited academic programs-the most among Oklahoma's regional universities) and we continue to make SWOSU one of the top places for students to succeed."

Even though the spring semester just started, SWOSU is already preparing for enrollment during the 2011 summer and fall semesters. High school seniors are signing up for New Student Orientations on March 29, April 8 and 20; June 13, July 21; and August 12. Current SWOSU students will start enrolling for the summer and fall semesters on February 14.
