SWOSU Nursing Students Plan Health Fair and Safe Kids Event on March 5

A health fair is planned Saturday, March 5, on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford. The free event is open to everyone.

SWOSU School of Nursing instructor Tammy Blatnick said a variety of services will be offered from 8 a.m. until 12 noon in the Wellness Center on the SWOSU campus. Also, the Safe Kids Oklahoma coalition will have certified child passenger safety technicians available to provide hands-on instruction on installing car seats/booster seats and answering questions. A limited number of child safety seats will be available for eligible families.

The health fair is being sponsored by community and pediatric nursing students at SWOSU. The students will monitor blood pressures, blood sugars, weight and BMI and have information regarding health.

Representatives from the Weatherford Fire Department, Sinor Ambulance and Air Evac will also be attending the health fair.
