Men's and Women's Choruses Plan Concert on February 17


The SWOSU Women's and Men's Choruses will be in concert tonight (Thursday),  February 17,  at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center lobby on the Weatherford campus.

The Women's Chorus will perform Heart We Will Forget Him by James Mulholland with poetry by Emily Dickinson.  Janis South will accompany the choir on horn.  The group will also sing The Snow by Edward Elgar with violinists Jaymes Kirksey and Emily Liu.  Joyce Adams Curtis is the director and Karena Van Horn is the pianist.

The Men's Chorus will perform Mozart's Ihr unsre neue Leiter, a Masonic song dedicated to a new opening of a Masonic temple in 1785.  They will also sing Schubert's Der Gondelfahrer, the Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Stouthearted men, and Ralph Vaughan Williams Drinking Song.  Directed by Daniel Farris and accompanied by Dustin Morningstar, the Mozart will feature Pam Almack as a cello continuo player.
