Saturday's Starting Block and Project Blue Events Open to All SWOSU Students

SWOSU Orientation Leaders Mica Andrews and Kadie Davis are excited about the upcoming Dawg Days events including Project Blue. Project Blue is this Saturday, August 13, from 7:30-10 p.m. in the SWOSU Wellness Center.  The free event is sponsored by New Student Orientation and is open to all students.

The News Student Orientation Office at SWOSU wants to invite students to several events that the office hosting during Dawg Days on the Weatherford campus.

The first activity is a freshman event, The Starting Block, which is Saturday, August 13, from 6-7:30 p.m. in the Wellness Center. The freshmen will meet with their Orientation Leader and their freshman orientation class as a group.  They will do icebreakers and get to know each other as they talk about all of the night’s activities and upcoming events for Dawg Days. 

Following The Starting Block will be Project Blue. This event will be held at the Wellness Center, 7:30-10 p.m.  It gives both freshmen and upperclassmen a chance to get plugged in to campus life beginning after Move-In Day earlier that day.

Events to be held at Project Blue include:  exotic petting zoo, spray-on tattoos, inflatable games, digital pictures, picture frame decorating, dancing, 3-on-3 basketball and dodge ball tourney, board games, massages, prizes, food and more! One of the bigger prizes is a flat screen TV. The entire event is free to students.

SWOSU Collegiate Activities Board (CAB) is co-sponsoring the exotic animals and will be giving away prizes using the famous prize wheel.

This event is sponsored by NSO with help from Chi Alpha, SWOSU Collegiate Activities Board (CAB), SWOSU Guard Officer Leadership Development Program (GOLD), SWOSU Wellness Center Staff, and the University Bookstore (Follett).

The Orientation Leaders will offer campus/building tours on Monday, August 15, at 10:30 a.m.  The students will meet on the front steps of the Stafford Center and become more familiar with the buildings and the locations of their classes. This event is for freshmen and transfer students.  It is also open to any other students interested in becoming more familiar with SWOSU. It is helpful if the students will bring the most updated copy of their class schedule. At the conclusion of the tours, BancFirst will be providing ice cream from 12- 1 p.m. at the Clock Tower.
