SWOSU White Team Plays Mind Games Opening Match This Wednesday


The SWOSU White team will play its first-round match of the Mind Games this Wednesday, October 19, at 8:30 p.m. on KSBI-TV in Oklahoma City.

SWOSU will play East Central University in the new academic quiz show that allows students to compete for scholarship money. 

Already this season, the SWOSU Blue team defeated Southwestern Christian University, 200-40, in the first round of Mind Games and is scheduled to play its second match on October 26 at 8:30 p.m. against Northeastern A & M. The SWOSU Blue team won $2,250 in scholarship money for winning the first round matchup.

The SWOSU White team members are: Gaston Hart, Edmond (Santa Fe); Erika Christner, Drummond; Jim Ferguson, Elk City; and alternate Dillon Gunter, Binger-Oney.  Coach of both SWOSU teams is Kevin Collins.

Mind Games is an Oklahoma academic challenge that is a buzzer quiz game based on knowledge in all academic fields. The competition is bringing together teams of students from Oklahoma colleges and universities in a weekly battle of the brains. Students are competing for scholarship awards totaling $200,000.

Members of the SWOSU Blue team are: Zeke Mills, Springfield MO; Tanner Fisher, Calumet; and Kayla Argo, Plains KS. Alternate is Trent Boesen, Ninnekah.
