Oklahoma City and Albuquerque Teams Advance to World Championship of Robotics Competition

Liao Home School in Oklahoma City and the AHERT team of Albuquerque (NM) have been invited to the world championship of the First Tech Challenge robotics competition as the result of the State of Oklahoma FTC robotics championship held March 2-3 on the Weatherford campus.

Liao and AHERT will compete April 25-28 in St. Louis (MO) and will be among 124 teams from around the world gathering in the Missouri city.

Twenty-six teams came to SWOSU where they were judged by 14 engineers and scientists on their robotic design, team skills, community outreach and team spirit.  During the day on Saturday these teams competed on the playing field to arrive at a winner of the competition.

Brad Fitzgerald, director of the state championship held at SWOSU, said the 2012-13 season begins to organize in May of this year. Interested schools can contact Fitzgerald in the SWOSU Engineering Technology Department at brad.fitzgerald@swosu.edu.
