Area Residents and School Groups Invited to SWOSU Research & Scholarly Activity Fair

The 19th annual Southwestern Oklahoma State University Research and Scholarly Activity Fair will be held Tuesday, April 10, in Weatherford and area residents and high school groups are invited to take advantage of this unique opportunity in western Oklahoma.

The fair will be at the SWOSU Memorial Student Union Ballroom from 12 noon to 3 p.m.  SWOSU President Randy Beutler will make opening remarks at 12:15 p.m.

Undergraduate research encompasses all undergraduate activities where undergraduate students make an inquiry or conduct an investigation that makes an original intellectual or creative contribution to their discipline, according to Dr. Lori Gwyn, director of the SWOSU Office of Sponsored Programs.

This event will showcase the research accomplishments of SWOSU undergraduate students and their mentors. Seventy-four campus-wide projects with over 120 students and faculty making contributions to these works will be presented at poster and podium sessions to run concurrently.  Represented disciplines for the 2012 Fair include Allied Health, Art, Athletic Training, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Finance, Management and Marketing, Language and Literature, Music Therapy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Physics, Psychology and Technology.

Gwyn encourages area residents and school groups to mark their calendar and try to attend on April 10.
