SWOSUPalooza is Thursday Night


SWOSUPalooza 13: “Raps and Chaps” is this Thursday, April 19, at 7 p.m. in the SWOSU Wellness Center on the Weatherford campus.

Headlining the event is country music superstar Stoney LaRue and the Arsenals. LaRue recently released his newest album, “Velvet,” that peaked at number 15 on the Billboard Country Music Chart. The native Oklahoman’s tours have taken him to every corner of North America.

Also being featured are three very impressive rising stars in music. Curtis and Luckey rounds out the country music for the evening, while Josh Sallee and Delvin Sirleaf showcase their rap and hip-hop talents.

Curtis and Luckey, hailing from Lockhart (TX), are putting their own stamp on country music with their unique sound. The duo has opened for country music legends across the country and played the CMA Music Festival in Nashville. They have even been pegged to “fill the boots of Brooks & Dunn.”

Oklahoma City rapper Josh Sallee has been creating quite a buzz with his new album, Probable Flaws, and energetic live performances. In the last year, Sallee has performed with industry icons Big Sean, Mac Miller and Kendrick Lamar. His extensive tour in the southwest region of the US included a feature at the “South by Nice Kicks” showcase at SXSW in Austin (TX).  

SWOSU student Delvin Sirleaf has seen major success in the last year. His hits have been featured on many Oklahoma radio stations, and his EP, Waiting for Boarding, is available on iTunes. Sirleaf has been a featured performer twice on the KSBI 52-TV show “Oklahoma Live,” and was also invited to the MTV VMAs in Los Angeles (CA).
