Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s College of Pharmacy has implemented a new Pharmacy Alumni Lecture Series (PALS) on the Weatherford campus.

SWOSU College of Pharmacy alumni will be invited to return for the lecture series to share their professional experience and accomplishments with the pharmacy students. The new endeavor will continue in a variety of formats including lectures in class, research paper discussion, presentations to student organizations, informal brown bag lunches, panels of alumni, and other settings.

“SWOSU pharmacy alumni are a vital component of the pharmacy college’s success,” said Patti Harper, alumni and development director for the SWOSU College of Pharmacy. “We value their involvement as well as their knowledge and expertise of the pharmacy profession to help shape the lives of our pharmacy students.”

The first two PALS events at SWOSU were by Jay Kinnard of Norman and Jerrod Roberts of Edmond. Both are 1991 SWOSU College of Pharmacy graduates.  Kinnard is market acquisitions coordinator and health system pharmacy manager for Walgreens in Oklahoma City and Roberts owns Flourish Pharmacy in Oklahoma City.

Both spoke to Dr. Shelly Stockton’s community pharmacy class.
