Geary Resident to Display Artwork at SWOSU Exhibition

Tena Nance, long-time resident of Geary, will present her artwork October 16-30 at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Art Department Gallery on the Weatherford campus.

A come-and-go opening reception will be held Tuesday, October 16, from 4-7 p.m. Everyone is invited to the reception. 

The two-week free showing is open to the public 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays in the Art Building. 

Nance has been an artist for over 30 years.  She was commissioned to paint Christmas cards for three years for Bishop Leon Stewart of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, headquartered in Oklahoma City. The same cards were also featured in an international monthly circulation magazine, Advocate.

Nance has won numerous local awards including, but not limited to, the Blaine County Free Fair, Geary Tri County Fair, and other areas such as El Reno and Cordell. Her work has been featured at the Blaine County Court House.
