Blood Drive Planned December 3-4 at SWOSU

The Oklahoma Blood Institute will be on the Weatherford campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University on Monday and Tuesday, December 3-4, for a blood drive hosted by the SWOSU Orientation Leaders.

The blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day in the SWOSU Wellness Center.

Students, faculty, staff and the general public are invited to participate, and all donors receive a free t-shirt, health screenings and donor reward points.

The drive is billed as a “Battle of the Classes.” The contest pits students of different classifications—freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior—against each other in a battle for bragging rights.

OBI consultant Richard Story advises donors to eat well, get a good night’s sleep and drink plenty of fluids before giving blood. According to information from the OBI, one blood donation can save up to three lives. Yet, less than ten percent of eligible Americans donate.
