A longtime Southwestern Oklahoma State University supporter has pledged $25,000 to sponsor a multi-media jumbo color video board in the new Events Center being built on the Weatherford campus.

Kim Ingram and Kristen Kelley Poisson of Kelley Jewelers in Weatherford are one of the first donors for the project.

“Kelley Jewelers is excited about this opportunity to partner with SWOSU and the Events Center in supporting the Weatherford community and surrounding area,” said Ingram, who is business partner, vice president and chief financial officer at Kelley Jewelers.

Kelley Jewelers was founded in 1931 by F.L. and Dona Marshall Kelley. Kristen, the granddaughter of F.L. and Dona Kelley, is the co-owner of the business.

“Kelley Jewelers has played a major role in the history and growth of this area,” SWOSU President Randy Beutler said. “We are proud to have their continued support.”

The 93,000 square foot Events Center will be a site for conferences, trade shows, concerts/entertainment, athletic events, tournaments and more. The 32’ x 12’ video board that Kelley Jewelers is helping sponsor will be used for engaging advertisements, promotions, exciting videos and game-day shots.

The project was initiated by the City of Weatherford’s “Vision 2020” strategic planning process and is expected to be completed in late 2013/early 2014.
