SWOSU Students Rack Up Over 122,000 Volunteer Service Hours


Students at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford contributed 122,904 volunteer service hours during the 2011-12 academic year.

Dr. Viki Craig, director of service learning, reported the statistics to the annual National Campus Compact Survey. The volunteer time was attained by 3,136 students acting in club and organizational activities, averaging 1.2 hours of weekly service.

“We congratulate the teachers, sponsors and these students with big hearts,” Craig said.
