Members of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Student Research Excellence Club in Weatherford recently explored Science Museum Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.

Eleven members and one faculty member enjoyed hands-on activities while increasing their knowledge in science. Students felt they were able to release their “inner child” while enjoying the exhibits designed for all ages such as viewing the night sky in the planetarium and actually experiencing the movements during an earthquake.

Dr. Stephen Burgess said this was a well-deserved trip for the students as they took a break from the Research Journal they are designing for SWOSU.  The trip was made possible by funds from SWOSU student fee allocations.

SWOSU’s Student Research Excellence Club is open to all students. The purpose of the club is to promote awareness and involvement of student research projects on and off campus and provide information on research opportunities and potential sponsors, research fairs, internships and fellowships.
