SWOSU Wins Mind Games Competition


Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s “Mind Games” team in Weatherford won the 2013 spring semester championship title with a 510-250 victory over Cameron University in a May 19 match aired on KSBI-TV.

SWOSU led at halftime, 150-70, but Cameron rallied to take a 250-150 lead. SWOSU then scored 360 straight points to win by the final count.

For winning the championship match, the SWOSU team won $5,000 in scholarship money. For the entire spring semester, SWOSU won $13,000 from Mind Games, an Oklahoma academic challenge competition that is a buzzer quiz game based on knowledge in all academic fields.  Sixteen Oklahoma colleges and universities competed this spring.

SWOSU will now play the fall semester champion, Redlands Community College, for the 2012-13 overall title. That match will be played Sunday, May 26, at 6 p.m. on KSBI-TV.
