Heartland Cruise Car Show's Friday Night Activities Taking Place at SWOSU

Because of road construction taking place in downtown Weatherford, the Friday night activities of the 23rd annual Heartland Cruise Car Show will be staged primarily this year on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University.

The popular Weatherford Area Chamber of Commerce event will be held on Father’s Day weekend, June 14-15.

On Friday night, cars will be stationed from 6-7:30 p.m. on College Street, extending from Broadway to State Streets on the south end of the SWOSU campus. The car cruise will take place from 7:30-9 p.m. with cars traveling on Main Street from Illinois to State Street, then north on State Street to the SWOSU campus, continuing through the one-way Campus Drive to College Street, and then back to State Street.

Tommy Nabors and Joanne Chain, co-chairs of the show, said everyone is encouraged to set up tailgate parties anywhere along the route : http://www.swosu.edu/news/events/tailgate-party.pdf. A grill will be awarded to the best tailgate party.

Many activities are planned for Saturday at Rader Park, where the show will take place  throughout the day with the awards ceremony planned at 3 p.m. Throughout the weekend, participants will be competing for over $10,000 in cash give-a-ways.
