SWOSU Plans New Student Orientation this Monday

Around 120 incoming freshmen and their parents/family members have signed up to attend the next New Student Orientation (NSO) session at Southwestern Oklahoma State University this Monday, July 15, on the Weatherford campus.

Students will begin the day at the Fine Arts Center at 9 a.m. for a general session. The students will learn about campus life as well as receive advisement for building a fall semester schedule compatible with their chosen majors. An open house starts at 11 a.m. in the Memorial Student Center, where students can get IDs, parking permits, be taken on campus tours and obtain other information. Schedules will be ready for pick up at 1 p.m.

Parents/family members will attend a session in the Memorial Student Center Ballroom that also begins at 9 a.m. where they will hear from various departments and NSO representatives.

NSO Coordinator Jessica Skinner said the goal for these sessions is for both students and parents to have a good sense of the campus as well as being introduced with staff and faculty at SWOSU.

New Student Orientation also has sessions planned for August 16.  For more information, contact the NSO office at 580.774.3233.
