Jeong selected for International Textile Art Installations in Canada

E.K. Jeong, interim chair of the Art Department at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, has been selected to participate in an international fiber-arts event in Quebec, Canada.

The TriennaleInternationale des Arts Textiles en Outaouais 2013 will be open to the public on August 31 through September 29.

Jeong will contribute to the Outdoor Textile Installations component of the event, which involves 26 international artists who will be paired up into 13 teams. The theme for this year is “Matrices.”

She and a partner will create and install their artwork during their creative residency on August 16-31. They will construct an outdoor textile art installation and incorporate it into the environment along the 1.5 km walking path at Moon Rain Centre for Textile Arts in Gatineau Hills, Quebec.

The artists will present their works at the vernissage (preview) on Saturday, August 31, from 3 to 7 p.m.
