SWOSU Mind Games Teams Off to Good Start


One Southwestern Oklahoma State University Mind Games team won its opening match and the second SWOSU team opens play on Sunday, October 20.

The SWOSU White team opened play with a 725-330 win over Rogers State University and will now advance to the quarterfinals on November 17 against Cameron University.

The SWOSU Blue team opens play on October against East Central University Black.

All Mind Games matches are aired on KSBI-TV in Oklahoma City, and the college version is played at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday nights.

SWOSU is the defending champs of Mind Games, an Oklahoma academic challenge competition, hosted by Jenifer Reynolds. SWOSU has fared well in the competition since it began in 2011. SWOSU won the 2012-13 grand championship title and SWOSU won the 2013 and 2012 spring semester titles as well as finishing runnerup during the 2012 fall semester.

During the 2013 spring semester, SWOSU won $18,000 in scholarship money, which is provided by The Chickasaw Nation and Oklahoma Energy Resources Board.

Members of the SWOSU White team are: Zeke Mills, Springfield MO; Will Robinson, Canton; and Keegan Coon of Davenport.

Members of the SWOSU Blue team are: Connor Holland, Duncan; Mackenzie Bergagnini, Ponca City; Jessi Goetzinger, Edmond (North); and Thomas Blakely, Enid.
