Oklahoma Athletic Training Day Planned March 4 at SWOSU

High school students who want to learn more about the field of athletic training are invited to Oklahoma Athletic Training Day (OATD) this Tuesday, March 4, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

Oklahoma’s five accredited undergraduate athletic training education programs and one entry-level graduate program will present topics throughout the day at the event being held in the new Pioneer Cellular Event Center. OATD is sponsored by the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association.

OATD is an annual event for high school students to learn more about athletic training. Students will have a chance to talk to representatives from each of the accredited institutions including SWOSU, University of Tulsa, Southern Nazarene University, Oklahoma State University, East Central University and the University of Central Oklahoma. Featured guest speaker will be Brian Choate, who will be talking about his experiences and various stories from his Olympic athletic training career.

The event registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with sessions starting at 9 a.m. and continuing through 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided for the students.
