SWOSU to Hold Disaster Response Drill on Friday

Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Nursing students in the Community Service and Disaster Preparedness Class will host a disaster drill on the Weatherford campus this Friday, April 25.

Beginning Friday morning and continuing through the afternoon, large numbers of emergency personnel and observers will be on the SWOSU campus participating in the drill, including campus police, local and area law enforcement, and the National Guard.

The disaster drill is designed to simulate a real-life emergency situation, and training is important to ensure the best response in the event of an actual disaster. The type of disaster is not being disclosed ahead of time, but the drill will be as realistic as possible.

Senior nursing students controlling the drill are: Kodi Adams, McLoud; Te’onna Adams, Yukon; Amanda Earl, Rocky; Tristan Johnson, Norman; Allyson Lederer, Mustang; Micah Majors, Piedmont; Katherine Maynard, Mustang; Aly Penner, Enid; Kaylene Rivera, Fairview; Jim Smith, El Reno; and Kassey Worley, Fairview.
