SWOSU Greeks Hosting Rush Week Activities September 8-13

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Greek Life will host their annual Rush Week beginning Monday, September 8, and extending through bid day on Saturday, September  13.

SWOSU Dean of Students Cindy Dougherty said pledging a fraternity or sorority is an excellent opportunity to meet new people, become more involved on campus, and make a difference in many local and statewide charities.

With three nationally recognized sororities (Sigma Sigma Chi, Zeta Phi, Kappa Delta Omega) and two fraternities (Phi Delta Theta and Tau Kappa Epsilon) , SWOSU’s Greek Life is designed to offer students the full college experience while allowing them to make lifelong friends and participate in charity and service work for others.

Sign up day for those wishing to “Go Greek” will be in the Memorial Student Center through September 5 with Rush Week kicking off on Monday. During Rush Week, students interested in pledging will gather information about each fraternity/sorority before receiving bids later in the week and having the opportunity to choose which organization to join based on whether or not they are awarded a bid.  Bid Day will take place during the university’s Parent’s Day activities.
