Bigger and Better Tailgating Planned at SWOSU

SWOSU's The Wagon
“The Wagon” will be at SWOSU Tailgating. This new trailer will be seen at various events along with the spirit vehicle Code Blue.

The 2014 Southwestern Oklahoma State University football season is drawing closer and another season of SWOSU Tailgating is planned on the Weatherford campus starting September 13.

This year’s Tailgate Party Pit on the west side of Milam Stadium is going to be bigger and better, according to SWOSU Director of Residence Life & Housing Chad Martin. Some of the features include live music, inflatable games, Food Truck Alley Rally, Code Blue Living Room, Game On Party Truck and delicious food.

For those fans that are especially handy at the grill, taking place at four of the home games will be a Cook-off Challenge with $800 up for grabs each tailgate. The contest is free and open to any team, business, organization or individual. Details and a brochure are available by calling 580.774.3024. Home games this year are September 13 (Parent’s Day), September 20, October 11 (Homecoming), October 18 (Fall Break) and November 15.

Tailgating is scheduled to commence with the first home game this season, a 7 p.m. contest between SWOSU and Arkansas Tech. From 1 p.m. until kickoff, fans are invited to enjoy Jigg’s bar-b-cue, drinks, live music, and a performance by the Pride of the Great Southwest marching band. The event is free to all, and Bulldawg spirit will be in full force.
