SWOSU Students Saluting the Constitution

An enormous recreation of the United States Constitution, pocket-sized Constitutions and registering to vote are some of the activities/handouts available for Southwestern Oklahoma State University students during the annual Constitution Week celebration being held through this Friday, September 19, on the Weatherford campus.

SWOSU’s Collegiate Activities Board sponsors the event. CAB will host a booth in the lobby of the General Thomas P. Stafford Center where students can sign the large recreation of the United States Constitution, pick up pocket-sized Constitutions, and register to vote.  The booth is open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily.

CAB will also host an essay contest for the Weatherford Middle School and an art contest for Weatherford East Elementary students.

“The constitution affects all of us, every day,” said SWOSU Dean of Students intern and Constitution Week chair Dylan Hetherington. “It’s important for students to learn about their rights and how it affects their daily lives.”
