Relay for Life Takes Place Friday at SWOSU

The Wellness Center on the campus of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford will once again be the site for the annual American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event for Custer County. The event is this Friday, April 17.

Relay for Life will be held from 7 p.m. until 3 a.m., and 16 SWOSU organizations will be participating in Relay for Life, which is a worldwide event that gives people from different communities across the globe an opportunity to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease by raising funds and awareness in the name of cancer research.

Several SWOSU student groups have chosen to get involved and will be participating in Relay by having various team members walking on the track at all times and giving out information about their organizations at booths located on the basketball court area.
