Races Develop in SWOSU SGA Elections

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Student Government Association (SGA) will hold elections on Tuesday, April 21, for the offices of president, vice president and treasurer for the 2015-2016 school year on the Weatherford campus. 

Sophomore Makenzy Hamon of Piedmont is challenging current SGA Vice President Austin Cantrell (a junior) of Blanchard for the president spot, while sophomore Austin Loomis of Deer Creek and junior Matt Farris of Ringling run for vice president. The race for treasurer is between current treasurer, sophomore Dossanna Miller of Fairview, and junior Ryan Schmid of Kingfisher.

Elections will be held online via Canvas and all students are encouraged to vote sometime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

SGA is a student organization that is dedicated to the improvement of SWOSU and the planning and execution of various campus-wide events, including Battle of the Bulldogs, Fa-La-La-La-Follies, Kid’s Night, SWOSUPalooza, and Relay for Life.
