Glow in the Dark Volleyball Tourney to Benefit Women's Shelter

A “Glow in the Dark” volleyball tournament to benefit the Women’s Shelter in Clinton is planned this Monday, April 27, on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford.

The SWOSU Psychology Club and Phi Delta Theta fraternity are hosting Settin’ in the Dark at the Wellness Center on the SWOSU campus. “Glow in the Dark” items—including game balls, bracelets and necklaces—will be available to participants.

The event is a single-elimination tournament with a random draw for team matchups. First and second place teams will receive T-shirts and trophies will be awarded to the winning team. The cost is $12 per team, and teams are comprised of six people and at least one person per team must be a female.

Kristin Woods said there will also be a prize for ‘Best Team Uniforms’ so she encourages teams to deck out in their favorite outfits. Hot dogs, chips and bottled water will be available for $3, and all proceeds from the event will be donated to the Women’s Shelter in Clinton as part of April being Sexual Assault Awareness month.

Registration for the tournament begins at 7:15 p.m. For more information, contact Woods at 580.774.3723.
