Four SWOSU Students Pull Off Intramurals Triple Crown

Intramural sports are always a popular activity on college campuses, and four Southwestern Oklahoma State University students were able to pull off a rare “triple crown” during the 2014-15 school year on the Weatherford campus.

Seniors Pete Drouhard of Strong City, Nate Hunt of Weatherford, J.D. Pugh of Texhoma and Walter Wright of Navajo all were on teams that won championships in football, basketball and softball.

“It felt good to compete with and against my friends and to just have a good time,” Wright said. “It’s a good way to spend time away from class and work.”

SWOSU offers a variety of options for those looking to participate in intramurals during the school year, including co-ed softball, co-ed and men’s basketball, flag football, dodge ball, indoor soccer, indoor/sand volleyball and kickball. Certain sports are only available by semester.
