SWOSU Celebrating Constitution Week

Southwestern Oklahoma State University students and faculty are participating in a Constitution Week celebration through September 18 on the Weatherford campus.

“It’s important to have an understanding of the Constitution,” said chair of Constitution Week Whitnie Holten, freshman biology major from Anadarko.  “It affects all of us, and it’s good to know and understand our rights.”

SWOSU’s Collegiate Activities Board is sponsoring the event, and everyone is encouraged to drop by the CAB booth in the lobby of the General Thomas P. Stafford Center any time each day from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Constitution Week activities include signing a large replication of the United States Constitution, registering to vote, watching a video about the Constitution, and receiving a pocket-sized Constitution.

CAB is also hosting a giveaway for a GoPro camera. Students who register to vote will be entered for a chance to win. Students can also sign the Big Constitution to be entered into the drawing.  The winner will be announced on Friday, September 18, at 3 p.m. at the CAB booth.
