Passport Fair Planned October 27 at SWOSU

Southwestern Oklahoma State University and the Weatherford Post Office will host a Passport Fair this Tuesday, October 27, on the Weatherford campus.

The fair, that will assist individuals applying for a U.S. passport, is open to everyone from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the lobby of the Memorial Student Center.

Staff from the U.S. Postal Service will assist individuals with assembling the application and accepting it for processing. If needed, passport photos will also be taken for a $15 fee. The Post Office also charges an execution fee of $25 for the application packet.

Dr. Randy Beckloff at SWOSU said that despite the state of Oklahoma receiving an extension on the REAL I.D. Act deadline, many area residents are still interested in obtaining their passports.

To apply for a passport, individuals will need to bring the following:

  • Original birth certificate( or certified copy) or previous U.S. Passport
  • Driver’s license or government photo ID – copy of front and back
  • Passport Photo
  • Personal check or money order for the passport fee Payable to Department of State - $110 for a Passport Book (typical passport) or $30 for a Passport Card (Driver’s license size but not used for international air travel)
