SWOSU-Sayre Awards Scholarships at Career Day

Nearly 200 high school juniors and seniors recently attended the annual Career Day at Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre.

Representatives from 23 SWOSU programs gave information to groups of high school and college students.

Scholarships were made available for participants. One student from each attending school will be awarded a $400 Career Day Scholarship. Scholarships will be given to students from Cordell, Elk City, Erick, Hobart, Mangum, Merritt, Reydon, Sayre, Shamrock (TX), Sweetwater, Vici and Western Technology Center.

“Career Day helps us inform local students about the academic programs and career opportunities available through the university,” said event organizer and SWOSU-Sayre Registrar Terry Billey.

InterBank generously provided and grilled hot dogs for the students who were treated to lunch, gifts, and games inside Patterson Fieldhouse. Among the games played were bumper ball and dodgeball.

This is the 16th consecutive year SWOSU-Sayre has hosted Career Day.
