Two SWOSU Foundations Seeking Donations to Assist Students

Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford gladly will accept end-of-year donations from individuals and businesses in an effort to assist SWOSU students on both the Weatherford and Sayre campuses.

The university has two foundations that provide support: SWOSU Foundation and the SWOSU Pharmacy Foundation.

Like other universities, SWOSU depends on support from the private sector. State government resources for the university budget continue to decrease so it is critical to receive gifts and donations, according to SWOSU Foundation Executive Director Garrett King.

The SWOSU Foundation was established in 1977 to promote philanthropy and distribute funds to support the activities and programs of SWOSU. Located in the historic Burton House, the foundation currently stewards over $20 million in assets for the benefit of SWOSU.

The SWOSU Pharmacy Foundation was incorporated in 1974 for the overall purpose of supporting the educational endeavors of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy. During its 40 plus year history, the foundation has raised private funds from alumni, friends and corporations to provide support for the student, faculty, programs and facilities of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy. Today, its assets total $6 million. More information on giving to the pharmacy campaign is available at

Donations can be mailed to SWOSU Foundation or SWOSU Pharmacy Foundation at 100 Campus Drive, Weatherford OK 73096. Visitors are also welcome but as a reminder, the university will be closed starting December 24 through the end of the month. For more information, call the SWOSU Foundation at 580-774-3267 or SWOSU Pharmacy Foundation at 580-774-3190.
