SWOSU-Sayre to Host Writing Competition

Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Sayre will hold its 16th annual Timed WARP (writing and research project) event for area high school juniors on Tuesday, March 8.

SWOSU-Sayre language and literature instructor Judy Haught said the day’s activities will include a research and writing competition, and the participants with the top three essays will be awarded scholarships.

“Students will benefit from being exposed to college-level writing and research, “Haught said.  “They can also include their participation on resumes and scholarship applications.”

Breakfast and lunch will be provided for the students and their teachers.  The students will also play games for prizes.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in Mackey Hall, and the event concludes at 2 p.m.
