Patrick Riley's Mask Exhibition Coming to SWOSU

The SWOSU Visiting Artist Program will feature Patrick Riley, a nationally recognized mask maker and arts educator, at a month-long exhibition set for March 8-April 14 on the Weatherford campus.

Riley’s masks have been used in productions at the Kennedy Center. He also served for many years as fine arts director and as a visual arts teacher in the Oklahoma City school system.

The exhibition will be held in the SWOSU Art Gallery, located in the lobby of the Art Building, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. Area residents can meet Riley during a reception on Tuesday, March 8, from 4-6 p.m.

Riley will also give a series of mask-making workshops: March 7, 2-4 p.m.; March 8, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.; and April 14, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. In addition, Riley will lecture on his experience as an artist and arts educator on March 8, 3 -4 p.m.; and April 14, at 3-4 p.m. Those interested in taking part in the workshops are encouraged to make reservations by email at ek.jeong@swosu.edu or by phone at 580-774-3756 due to limited seating. But, drop-ins are also welcome. Workshop supplies are provided.

The events are free and open to the general public. The program is made possible in part by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council.
