Oklahoma Bar Association President Garvin Isaacs Speaks Tuesday at SWOSU

Garvin Isaacs, Jr., president of the Oklahoma Bar Association, will speak on Tuesday, April 12, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

Isaacs will discuss professionalism with SWOSU College of Pharmacy students. Professor Dr. Virgil Van Dusen said the public is invited to the 9 a.m. session but should contact him at virgil.vandusen@swosu.edu or 580.774.3255 since there is limited seating.

Isaacs of Oklahoma City has been praised and vilified for his courtroom antics in high-profile cases. He was catapulted into the limelight when he won a 1979 acquittal for Gene Leroy Hart, the man accused of raping and killing three young Oklahoma Girl Scouts. He has been involved in general civil and criminal trial practice since 1978.

His practice areas include negligence, wrongful death, nursing home injuries, medical malpractice, products liability against automobile manufacturers, bad faith insurance law, water pollution, oil and gas pipeline fraud, and racial discrimination.
