SWOSU Allied Health Sciences Plans "Heart for the Hilltop" Campaign

The Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Allied Health Sciences and the SWOSU Foundation, Inc. have announced a new campaign, “Heart for the Hilltop.”

This fundraising effort will help fund the needs of the quickly growing and expanding Allied Health Sciences Department.

“‘Heart for the Hilltop’ is the SWOSU Foundation’s effort to raise much-needed resources in support of Oklahoma’s only Masters of Science Degree in Health Information and Informatics Management,” said SWOSU Foundation Executive Director Garrett King.

The campaign’s supporters already include Weatherford Regional Hospital, Alliance Health Clinton, The Children’s Center in Bethany, and the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, all of whom employ SWOSU alumni.

According to SWOSU OTA/PTA Programs Coordinator and Fundraising Chair Sharon Lawrence, SWOSU Allied Health Sciences serves over 500 students on campus with a staff of six members.

“We need support to continue providing excellence in health care education,” Lawrence said. “The funds raised will allow our students more internship, observation and scholarship opportunities, allow credentialed faculty to attend continuing education conferences and events, and provide updated technology and educational resources to faculty and students.”

Contributions to the “Heart for the Hilltop” campaign may be made by contacting the SWOSU Foundation at 580-774-3156 or going online at www.givetoswosu.com.
