Ninety Incoming Freshmen Enjoying Camp Duke

Ninety incoming freshmen are on the Southwestern Oklahoma State University campus in Weatherford from July 19-22, attending Camp Duke.

The SWOSU New Student Orientation office is hosting the camp, designed to assist the future students in making a metaphorical bridge between high school and their first college semester. The freshmen are participating in different games to get acquainted and also attending workshops to give them a feel for what to expect when the semester starts in August.

Taler Alexander, coordinator of NSO, said some of the activities include a scavenger hunt and breakfast provided by SWOSU’s Greek fraternities and sororities.

The camp is not mandatory for incoming freshmen. SWOSU is expecting over 900 incoming freshmen this fall.
